Zooboo and Pumpkin Patch
On Saturday we went trick-or-treating at the zoo. They had a lot of fun activities. Then in the afternoon we went to a farm where the kids could feed the animals and play games, and pick out pumpkins from the pumkin patch. We also went through a corn maze and Alise was excited to be the one leading us through it. The kids are excited for Halloween and Zadik's new favorite word is "Candy!"

Our Unexpected Visitor
One night as Byram and I were going to bed, we heard a strange noise in our house. At first we thought one of the kids was crying, but it sounded more like a cat. We didn't hear it again, so we got in bed, but then we heard a scratching and knocking at our front door. When we went to check, there was nothing there, but the blanket that we had at the bottom of the door had been moved. We looked all over the house and finally a cat came out from under the table. We have no idea how the cat got in our house, but it was a funny surprise in our new house, just in time for Halloween.
Caramel Apples
My family and some good friends of ours came up to Pocci to help us move and we made caramel apples. The kids had a great time with that, and few injuries were sustained. Alise loved having Brielle, Evan, and Carsten here, and she still asks me almost every day if Brielle can come back and sleep in her bed with her again.

Our New Home
We bought our first house!!! It's nice to finally unpack and get settled in. So far we like most things about our house. It's kind of like a diamond in the rough....lot's of projects for Byram to enjoy. But I'm thrilled because we discovered that the whole upstairs was originally done in hardwood floors and then covered with carpet and 50's style pea green linoleum. Yay, I don't have to put up with carpet in the dining room for very long! The kids are already making their mark there.

The greatest treasure we've found in our house so far is the apple tree in the backyard. It was full of great looking, delicious gala apples. We have spent most evenings in our house so far making apple sauce, apple cider, and dried apples. The kids love to help me pick apples off the tree.
Alise and Zadik love to ride their bikes in the unfinished basement. Thanks for the idea Heather! It will make winter a little more bearable.
